I don't remember being promised a cure when I was diagnosed 33 years ago - maybe that's a good thing. I do know that for a long time I felt a cure would be found some day, but not within my life-span. But today I am sure I will see the artificial pancreas and hopeful that I will also see a cure. Hope is a great thing!!

(P.S. It was so great to meet you and your family!!!)Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05853213615426205881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5722679039498376978.post-31872019660374994242013-02-04T22:46:29.025-05:002013-02-04T22:46:29.025-05:00Thanks Scott, and no, I couldn't have imagined...Thanks Scott, and no, I couldn't have imagined it until he showed it. Blew my mind too. I'm glad you were there for many reasons, but in this case here's just one: so we could check each other's understanding of what he said! He was remarkably clear, but I'm glad you were there and can reassure me it really happened :)Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00225584432591315271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5722679039498376978.post-91408102129216372392013-02-04T22:40:48.143-05:002013-02-04T22:40:48.143-05:00Thank you Shannon, it was great meeting you too! ...Thank you Shannon, it was great meeting you too! It took me a long time to be able to begin to explain a CWD conference's effect on me, and I'm only starting to understand it! Best of ongoing luck with your great adventure...I'm looking forward to staying tuned, and to seeing you again soon as well.Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00225584432591315271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5722679039498376978.post-90378141984934498512013-02-04T17:01:18.859-05:002013-02-04T17:01:18.859-05:00Great post, Sean.

But it was more than just updates in technology, it was about being able to stop thinking about diabetes in terms numbers and calculations.

He blew my mind when he talked about sitting down to a meal and only needing to tell the system the relative size of your meal compared to average.

Can you imagine? This was my first CWD experience and I can't even begin to explain how it affected me. (I'll have to figure it out, though, so I can update my blog! haha) It was so nice meeting you and your family -- hope to see you all again soon! Keep the positive attitude - it's infectious! :)Shannonhttp://nomoreshotsforshannon.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
